Tyger POS For Restaurants is our flagship product -
Point Of Sale system for restaurants. It can be set up for delivery,
fine dining, or counter restaurant operations, or for a combination.
You have probably seen similar systems operating in national
fast-food chains - counter staff with touch screens, displays in the
back for the cooks. You may have seen similar systems in
restaurants, with maps of the restaurant or perhaps showing the
seats around a bar.
Fast Training Training operators is quick - roughly a half hour is usually
sufficient to train a new operator, even with a complex menu. (The
menu itself - which menu items offer what options - usually takes
waiters much longer to learn.)
Fast Operation
The system is particularly well suited to delivery and counter
restaurants, where rapid handling of a series of orders is
important.
It is also well-tuned for fine dining establishments. After a waiter
has clocked in for the day, they can get to their most recent zone
in two keystrokes.
If you have employee meals, Tyger POS can take them to the employee
meal menu when they go off shift.
Fast Accurate Paperwork
When anyone goes off shift, they get a slip documenting the shift.
For waiters who carry cash pouches, this includes a breakdown of
sales and payments so they know how much they owe the house.
Coupon and Special Pricing Handling
Common coupon types are built in, such as "half off second", "second
free", "up to X dollars off", plus coupons can be handled by a
customizable script. You can also special price by class, for
example, "ladies night half off on all draft beers, and two call
drinks for price of one."
Split Payments and Split Tickets
The customer(s) can get a split ticket, and you can accept payment
in parts. For example, three diners might get a split ticket, two
pay with cash and one pays part by Visa and part by gift
certificate.
Flexible and cost-effective
You don't have to use touch screens and multiple cooking
area displays, but you can. You might prefer mouse-based operations
and a 40-column (maybe 2-color?) kitchen printer, and it does that
too.
You don't have to use barcodes to check out the drivers,
the cooking station takes ordinary keyboard input too, or even
touchscreens.
Really Really Flexible
All prompts in the system can be set to other languages thru our
built-in user-extendable internationalization features (European
style languages, not languages like Chinese).
Really Really REALLY
Flexible
The object model and database model are exposed, the program can be
extended by scripting, user scripts can be invoked in all sorts of
important places in the program, like before printing the receipt,
when a customer is updated, and so forth. The scripting manual is
over 30 pages long. Tyger POS dealers and people who know SQL, HTML,
and VBScript can customize the program to all sorts of unusual
requirements. You want to add logic to turn on lights over a pool
table when you rent it? Get some X10 hardware, a command-line
interface, and write a few lines of VBScript.
The screen-menus are fully customizable - including colors,
pictures on buttons, and even sound effects. The cooking station
alarm sound effects are all user-definable.
You can share a printer or even a cash drawer among several
ordering stations.
You Can Do It! (We can help.)
We prefer to sell software - installing the system is moderately
entertaining, but building more features is lots more fun.
Tyger POS can run on off-the-shelf hardware, or integrated POS
computers.
We provide instructions so you can install and run the POS software
yourself.
If you want a turn-key installation, we can do that.
Is this you?
The system works particularly well for delivery and counter
restaurants with large, complex menus with lots of options - such as
Pizza, Mexican, and Sandwich delivery/counter restaurants.
Is this someone you know?
The system can be installed, configured, and maintained by anyone
who is reasonably comfortable with MS Windows operation, setting up
a Windows LAN, and related skills.
These skills are not necessary to operate the system,
just to set it up and maintain it. Your counter staff will not have
to go to computer school.
You will need to know a little bit about Windows operation to
perform routine administration such as 'backup', and you will need
to know enough Microsoft Word to change the receipt template if you
use that option.
